Langley Green motorist assaulted after car window smashed

A man was assaulted in front of his young son after his car window was smashed by a driver in West Sussex.

He was punched outside his house in Denchers Plat, Langley Green, by a Mini driver and his passenger on 5 August.

Police, who have just released details, said the car mounted the kerb, narrowly missing the man and his son.

The attacker had earlier flashed his lights at the man's car in Martyrs Avenue, before overtaking and getting out to smash one of the windows.

'Unprovoked attack'

Appealing for witnesses, officers said the driver then drove off at speed after the incident at about 17:30 BST.

Ten minutes later, he drove up to the man's house.

The victim suffered injuries to his face and head in what police described as a "vicious and unprovoked attack".

A 30-year-old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and released on bail until 6 September pending further inquiries.
