A man accused of stabbing his brother to death at a party on Christmas Day has been cleared of murder.

Vaides Juras, of 33, Beach Road, Littlehampton, West Sussex, was cleared at a trial at Lewes Crown Court.

A post-mortem examination revealed Lithuanian national Bronius Juras, 38, died of a single stab wound to the heart.

Mr Juras has always denied stabbing his brother, who was killed at a flat in Beach Road in 2011.

Det Insp Phil Mays said "This tragic death was thoroughly investigated, and the decision to prosecute was taken by the Crown Prosecution Service.

"The judge allowed all the evidence to be put to the jury, and of course we respect their decision."

Sussex Police said all the other people arrested at the time of the murder were released without charge.
