Three men have appeared in court charged under new anti-squatting legislation following a police raid on a flat in London Road, Brighton.

Alistair Cannell, 22, Tobias Sedwick, 22, and Dirk Duputell, 29, all of Brighton, were all charged with squatting in a residential building.

The men, who are unemployed, are also accused of abstracting electricity and obstructing a police officer.

Brighton magistrates bailed them to appear at the same court on 30 October.
