Worthing woman tied up by burglars

A woman's hands and feet were tied together by three masked men who broke into her home in West Sussex and pulled her out of bed.

The gang demanded money from the woman at Woodland Stables, on Titnore Lane, Worthing but left empty handed.

Police said neighbours heard the 61-year-old screaming and found her bound on the floor but the men had left.

Det Con Andy Hobden said the burglary, at 21:30 BST on Wednesday, was "very harrowing" for the woman.

The men left the house after about 10 minutes.

"The victim is very shaken and is being supported by her family," said Mr Hobden.

"She owns the business and, as anyone would be, she is very scared and very shaken."

Sussex Police has asked anyone with information to contact officers.
