Armed masked robber holds up Crawley pub

A masked robber walked into a pub and held the manager and another employee at gunpoint.

The robbery happened at the Imperial Public House in Broadfield Barton, Crawley, at about 23:30 GMT on Sunday.

The gunman arrived as the manager opened the door to let a worker out, before ordering them both to empty the safe, police said.

He left on foot with several thousand pounds in cash. There were no customers in the pub at the time.

Officers searched for the robber but failed to find him.

Det Con Julie Chambers from Sussex Police said: "The victims were fortunately not injured but both are nonetheless very shaken by the whole experience."

The suspect is described as a tanned or mixed race man, about 5ft 7in tall, stocky and wearing a lime-green face covering and a green jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the force.
