Worthing alleyway rape: Woman attacked near carwash
A woman was raped in an alleyway in a late-night attack in Worthing.
The 25-year-old victim, who lives in the area, was assaulted as she walked home along Littlehampton Road in the early hours of Sunday.
Police said a man, thought to be in his early 20s, began talking to her before leading her into the alleyway near the Mister Clean carwash.
After attacking her, the man, who was about 5ft 3in and spoke with a "European" accent, ran off.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said the woman had been left severely distressed and was receiving counselling.
Det Sgt Kevin Scullion said: "This is an isolated incident for the area and not part of any pattern of offences, but it is a very serious crime and we need to find this man as quickly as possible."
