A museum displays some of its collection of photographs of Victorian and Edwardian moustachioed gentlemen in support of Movember.
An East Sussex museum is displaying some of its collection of photographs of Victorian and Edwardian moustachioed gentlemen in support of the Movember charity fundraising campaign. They include Arthur du Cros, MP for Hastings from 1908 to 1918.
Philip James Rufford was curator of Hastings Museum from 1905 to 1935. People growing moustaches for Movember are being asked to send pictures of themselves to add to the exhibition.
William Montague Glenister became the first Chief Constable of Hastings in 1882 and founded Hastings and St Leonards Fire Brigade in 1861.
Staff Sgt Alfred Moss was a prize winner in the British Army Gymnastics Competition in 1900. Later he became a music hall strongman. Movember is run annually to raise money and awareness of men's cancers and mental health issues.
James Hibberd is a present-day member of the museum team but is as proud of his moustache as his forbears from more than a century ago. Marvellous Moustaches runs until 5 January.
