Three arrested after fatal Crawley alleyway attack

Two men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 45-year-old man died following an attack in West Sussex.

Police said the Portuguese victim was found injured in an alley off Haslett Avenue East, Crawley, at 03:25 GMT.

He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, but died later on Saturday.

Det Chief Insp Jason Taylor said it was believed the man was assaulted at some time after 22:30 GMT on Saturday.

"We need to speak to anyone who was in the area around Stephenson Way or Haslett Avenue East near Three Bridges football club between 22:30 GMT and 03:25 GMT," he said.

Two men, aged 33 and 48. and a woman aged 22, all from Crawley, are being questioned.
