Cyclist injured by car in hit and run near Arundel

A cyclist has been seriously injured in a hit and run crash in West Sussex.

Police said the 52-year-old man was cycling along the A284 near Arundel at about 17:25 GMT on Monday when he was hit by a car which did not stop.

The cyclist, from Goring, was heading north when he was hit by what was described as "an estate type car" travelling in the same direction.

The man was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries, Sussex Police said.
