Elderly man died after Bexhill dogs row

A 74-year-old man died after he fell and hit his head during an argument with a fellow dog owner in East Sussex, police have said.

Peter Morley was walking his small brown terrier Bella in Bexhill when she was attacked by two Staffordshire bull terriers on 20 July.

Mr Morley fell while arguing with their owner, and died 10 days later.

Sussex Police have appealed for the owner to come forward, and for any witnesses to contact the force.

Det Ch Insp Rachel Bacon said: "We think Peter had an argument with the man with the dogs and we are appealing for that man to come forward and talk to us.

"We believe another man might have seen what happened between Peter, his dog and the other man and his dogs and we really need to speak to him as well."

She said the witness, described as white and in his 30s, with a brown beard, had helped Mr Morley when Bella ran away.
