Murder arrests over church porch body in Headcorn

The death of a man discovered in the porch of a church in Kent is being treated as murder.

Police were called to Church Walk, Headcorn, just before 09:00 BST by a member of the public.

It is understood detectives are still trying to identify the man who was found lying just outside St Peter and St Paul's Church.

Two men were later arrested by Kent Police on suspicion of murder.

BBC South East Today reporter Jon Hunt who witnessed the arrest, said: "He was arrested in a busy high street, surrounded by members of the public.

"The man was searched, and the contents of his pockets put into an evidence bag before he was driven away."
