Pedestrian named after lorry crash in Newhaven

A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a lorry in Newhaven has been named by police.

Peter Knight, 35, was hit on Friday along with a 65-year-old man at the junction of Avis Road and A26 New Road, South Heighton in Newhaven.

Mr Knight, of Powell Gardens, Newhaven, died at the scene.

The other man, who is from Bishopstone, remains in hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the lorry was uninjured.
