Motorist killed in A27 lorry collision
A man has died in a crash between his car and a 41-tonne container lorry on the A27 in East Sussex.
Police said the lorry, carrying a load of aluminium, overturned on the westbound A27 outside Folkington Manor, between Polegate and Drusillas roundabout, and collided with the car.
The lorry driver suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, and is being treated in hospital.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
One other vehicle, a scaffolding lorry, sustained minor damage.
The A27 remains closed between Drusillas and Polegate, and motorists have been advised that long delays in the area are likely to extend into the evening, beyond the rush hour.
