Janet Muller murder accused remanded in custody

A man charged with the murder of a student whose body was discovered in the boot of a burning car has been remanded in custody.

Christopher Jeffrey-Shaw, 26, from Lakeside, Beckenham, south London, appeared at Guildford Crown Court charged with murdering Janet Muller.

The 21-year-old's body was found in a Volkswagen Jetta in Ifield, West Sussex, on Friday.

Mr Jeffrey-Shaw is due at court again on 9 April.

The cause of death was smoke inhalation.

Ms Muller, a University of Brighton student from Eastbourne, was reported missing from Mill View Hospital in Hove on Thursday.
