Two men charged over Worthing burglary crash

Two men have been charged after a police officer and a motorist were hurt when a car crashed into level crossing barriers in West Sussex.

The car, suspected of being used in a burglary, had been sighted by police on the A259 in Worthing before it crashed near Ford railway station on Monday.

The car collided with a number of other vehicles, including a police car.

Both men, from the Portsmouth area, were charged with burglary and theft, while one faces driving offences.

They were remanded in custody to appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court.

A third man arrested on suspicion of burglary dwelling with intent to steal was bailed until 1 June.
