A27 closed eastbound after diesel leaks from lorry

Part of the eastbound carriageway of the A27 closed after diesel leaked from a broken tank on a lorry.

Sussex Police said the road was closed between the Devil's Dyke roundabout just north of Brighton and the Ashcombe/Kingston roundabout at Lewes.

Several minor collisions occurred on the stretch as vehicles spun out of control. Police said only one minor injury had been reported.

The carriageway closed at 12:00 BST and reopened at 16:15 BST.
