Cyclist left critically-ill and unconscious in Brighton road

A cyclist has been seriously injured in a suspected hit-and-run during the early hours of Saturday in Brighton.

The unconscious man was found on the Old Shoreham Road at the junction with Lancaster Road at 03:50 BST.

It is believed he was hit by a vehicle which failed to stop. He has potentially life-threatening injuries, Sussex Police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police quoting Operation Bycroft.
