Brighton's tallest building - the i360 tower - is to open on 4 August, British Airways has announced.

The structure close to the West Pier stands 531ft (162m) high and will take visitors up 450ft (137m) in a glass pod.

The tower, designed by the creators of the London Eye, has taken almost two years to build.

Its 12.7ft (3.9m) diameter has won it a place in the Guinness World Records as the "most slender tower".

The glass pod is 10 times the size of those on the London Eye and can carry up to 200 visitors, British Airways said.
