The flatmate of a man who was found stabbed to death in the doorway of a house is being hunted by police.

The victim was found with stab wounds in Osmonde Close, Worthing, on Tuesday. A knife was found nearby.

Lodger Alan Knight, 51, is being sought in connection with the man's death and has been spotted on CCTV in Bath, Sussex Police said.

Det Ch Insp Tanya Jones said: "All indications are that this was not a stranger attack."

Mr Knight is described as white, 5 ft 10 in tall, of stocky build with black hair and blue eyes. He has tribal design tattoos on both arms and a barbed wire and flowers tattoo around his neck.

Police are also looking for the victim's red Ford Fiesta-type van with the registration HT02 HMA.

The victim has not yet been formally identified as his next of kin have not yet been told, a police spokesman said.

A post-mortem examination is due to be held later.
