Police helicopter ends Teesside teenage beach party

A police helicopter was called in to help disperse a gathering of teenagers on Teesside.

A group of about 150, aged between 16 and 18, were on the beach between Marske and Saltburn on Saturday night.

The event had been advertised on a social networking site, and police were concerned that it would attract anti-social behaviour.

A 16-year-old was arrested for being drunk and disorderly, and a 19-year-old for causing criminal damage.

The crowd, which included a man and woman in their 50s, who had organised the event, left the scene when directed by police.
