Lottery grants to restore Stockton's heritage

Two projects to promote the heritage of a Teesside town have been awarded £2m of lottery funding.

The Heritage Lottery Fund announced grants of £1.7m for Central Stockton Town Heritage Initiative, to revamp unoccupied historic buildings.

A £300,000 grant for Preston Hall Walled Kitchen Garden will mean the currently derelict area can be restored and plants grown.

The grants will also allow training and volunteer opportunities.
