Middlesbrough vehicle thefts spark security warning
Motorists are being warned not to be careless after a spate of opportunist thefts from cars on Teesside.
Cleveland Police said that during May, 84 cars in Middlesbrough were broken into with a variety of property stolen including laptops and ipods.
Motorists are now being urged to keep doors locked, keep windows and sunroofs closed and lock valuables away.
Crime prevention officers also urged drivers not to leave car keys lying around in their homes.
