Middlesbrough vehicle thefts spark security warning

Motorists are being warned not to be careless after a spate of opportunist thefts from cars on Teesside.

Cleveland Police said that during May, 84 cars in Middlesbrough were broken into with a variety of property stolen including laptops and ipods.

Motorists are now being urged to keep doors locked, keep windows and sunroofs closed and lock valuables away.
