Three found unconscious in Marske street

Three people who were found lying unconscious in a Teesside street are believed to have taken a drug.

The 22-year-old man and two women, aged 27 and 22, were found in High Street, Marske, near the Zetland pub, in the early hours.

Cleveland Police said it thought they had taken a chemical, possibly gamma-butyrolactone and warned other people.

One of the women and the man regained consciousness but the 22-year-old woman remains in a critical condition.

A cordon was set up around the scene after the three were found.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Gamma-butyrolactone is a class C drug.
