Hartlepool Council seeks views on community woodland

Hartlepool residents have been asked for their views on plans for a new community woodland.

The 50-acre site, on an area of open land at Golden Flatts, would include open spaces and trees.

If approved, it would be the first large-scale green space to be created in Hartlepool since Summerhill country park in the 1990s.

The council is holding drop-in events from Monday and the plans are also on show at Central library.

Funding would be sought from the Forestry Commission and other national agencies.
