Boy, 4, killed in Stockton car collision

A four-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car in Stockton-on-Tees.

Cleveland Police said James Robinson had visited an ice cream van moments before the incident in Wearport Green, Portrack, on Friday evening.

He was taken to North Tees University Hospital where he died.

Police said the incident involved a Ford Fiesta, which was driven by a local woman. They have appealed for witnesses to the incident, which occurred shortly after 6pm.

Tributes and teddy bears have been left at the scene where the youngster died.
