Two arrested over Hartlepool hammer attack

Two men have been arrested by police investigating after an elderly Teesside couple were attacked with a hammer in their home.

Cleveland Police said the attack happened early on 3 August in Ryehill Gardens, Hartlepool.

An 80-year-old man suffered a broken collar bone and a 76-year-old woman bruising.

Two men, aged 50 and 41, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and released on bail.
