Man charged after officers stabbed in Darlington

A man has been charged after two police officers were stabbed on a street in Darlington.

One of the officers was wounded in the arm and the other in the head after they were called to Gurney Street on 12 August, Durham Police said.

The pair were taken to hospital for treatment, and later released.

The 22-year-old man will appear before magistrates later charged with wounding, actual bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon.
