Man shot with BB gun in Hartlepool dispute

A man was shot in the chest with a BB gun during a dispute in Hartlepool.

Cleveland police were called to reports of a disturbance inside a business on Warren Road at about 13:20 BST.

It followed an altercation in nearby Bruce Crescent. A 31-year-old man was treated at the scene for minor wounds to his chest.

A 17-year-old boy and a 30-year-old man were arrested in connection with the incident and are in custody being questioned.

The 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and the 30-year-old on suspicion of affray.

The road was closed at Winterbottom Avenue and Warren Road while the incident was going on.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
