A man who raped a teenager he met on Facebook has been jailed for seven years.

James Edward Dunn, 28, was already on the sex offenders register when he lured the 16-year-old into meeting him at Ormesby Hall, near Middlesbrough last August.

Dunn, of Elmhurst Gardens, Hemlington, lied about his age online, claiming to be 19.

He denied the rape but was found guilty at Teesside Crown Court.

Months earlier, Dunn arranged a date with a 15-year-old girl he met on Facebook and admitted using the social networking site to contact girls over the past five years.

When he was arrested, he said the girls were trying to "stitch him up" because they knew he was on the sex offenders register.
