Man injured in knifepoint robbery in Darlington

A male shop assistant was injured during a knifepoint robbery by two men at a Darlington store.

The men armed with knives entered the Cash for Clothes store in Northgate at about 11:30 BST on Wednesday and threatened the employee.

After demanding the money, one of the men punched the assistant in the face.

Both men were described as about 5ft 6ins tall, wearing dark clothing and scarves across their faces.

After the incident, the men were seen heading towards Westbrook Village.

Anyone with any information has been asked to contact Durham Constabulary.
