A 59-year-old man has died after being hit by a bus while riding a bicycle in Middlesbrough.

John Ferris McClenaghan, from Ormesby, was taken to James Cook University Hospital with head injuries but later died.

The accident happened at about 15:30 BST on Wednesday at the junction of Church Lane and Fabian Road in Eston.

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact PC Nigel Green at Cleveland Police.
