Man arrested over train bomb hoax at Darlington station

A man has been arrested over a bomb hoax at Darlington Railway Station.

Police were called to the 13:00 BST London Kings Cross to Edinburgh service on 12 September after reports of a man claiming there was a bomb on the train.

A 39-year-old man from Norfolk was subsequently arrested on suspicion of communicating a bomb threat and later released on police bail.

British Transport Police have appealed for witnesses who were on the East Coast service to come forward.
