Boy, 16, rescued from sea at Seaton Carew

A 16-year-old boy had to be rescued after getting his feet stuck under a rock in the sea off the Teesside coast.

Police, firefighters and the Coastguard were called to the beach at Seaton Carew on Friday evening after the teenager's feet got stuck in sand.

A spokesman for Cleveland Police said the tide was coming in and rescuers freed the boy in 15 minutes.

He was taken to hospital suffering from mild hypothermia.
