Springer spaniel puppies recruited by Cleveland Police

Cleveland Police is trying to recruit young spaniels to train to work with officers.

The force wants owners to either donate or sell their springer or cocker spaniels for training in its dog section.

The dogs need to be aged between 12 and 24 months olds and will be trained to recover drugs, cash and weapons.

Some of the new recruits will also be trained to be explosive dogs helping officers to deal with bomb threats.
