Man charged after boy injured in Hartlepool crash

A man has been charged in connection with a collision in Hartlepool which left a five-year-old boy injured.

The 22-year-old has been charged with driving whilst disqualified following a collision on Sydenham Road on Sunday at 20:50 BST.

He will appear at Hartlepool Magistrates' Court on 13 October.

The boy suffered a head injury along with cuts, grazes and bruises as a result of the collision.

Cleveland Police said he was in a comfortable condition in the University Hospital of North Tees.
