Scheme aims to cut fuel poverty on Teesside

More than 200 Teesside homes will benefit from a £900,000 scheme to connect them to mains gas and replace their heating systems.

Properties of social housing providers Erimus Housing and Tees Valley Housing in Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar will be involved.

The aim is to help cut fuel bills and provide more efficient heating.

Gas connection work will start shortly with household installation to be carried out early next year.
