The family of a man who died after being hit by a bus on Teesside have described him as "well loved".

Albert Jennings, 71, suffered head injuries when he was struck by an Arriva bus in The Wynd, in Marske, shortly before 11:00 GMT on Thursday.

He was taken by air ambulance to James Cook University Hospital where he died on Saturday afternoon.

His family said: "Albert was a well loved person, everyone liked him and he would do anything for anybody."

The tribute continued: "Albert was a much loved husband to Katrina, dad to Tracie and Andrea and granddad to Lauren and James.

"He was so so proud of his grandchildren who meant the world to him.

"We would like to thank everyone in the family as well as friends for their kind words and sympathy as we try to come to terms with our loss."
