Three men bailed in Stockton tainted drugs probe
Three men arrested in an investigation into a batch of contaminated drugs in Stockton have been released on bail.
Cleveland Police said four people were taken to hospital after taking what they thought was mephedrone. They have all now been released.
Eight addresses were searched by police on Monday.
Quick action after reports of the contaminated drugs is believed to have prevented more people being affected, police said.
Det Insp Steve Young, of Stockton Police, said: "We worked tirelessly throughout yesterday in a bid to trace the source of the contaminated drugs.
"By adopting a proactive partnership approach with our colleagues in local drugs agencies I'm hopeful that this is an isolated incident."
But he said if anyone felt unwell after taking a substance, to seek medical assistance or advice quickly.
