Darlington man dies after van and minibus collide

A man has died after a van and a minibus driving in opposite directions crashed in Darlington.

The crash happened at 23:50 BST on Saturday, when a VW Caddy van and a Ford Transit minibus collided on the A167 in Beaumont Hill.

The driver of the van, Billy Hardman, 33, of Campion Road, Darlington, was taken to hospital where he later died.

The 38-year-old man who was driving the 14-seater minibus, which was carrying no passengers, suffered minor injuries.
