Robert Baker denies John Coates murder

John Coates Mr Coates' was found at his home after his family reported that he had not been seen for days

A 24-year-old has denied the murder of a man who was found dead in a block of flats on Teesside.

John Coates, 61, was found with serious head injuries inside his home at Fleet House, Cargo Fleet Lane, Middlesbrough, in September.

Robert Baker, also of Fleet House, pleaded not guilty to murder at Teesside Crown Court earlier.

He was remanded in custody and will stand trial at the same court on 4 March.
