A 16-year-old boy who died in hospital after being hit by a car on Teesside has been named by police.

Tom Brown, a student at St Michael's RC School in Billingham, died in Middlesbrough's James Cook Hospital on Tuesday after he was hit by a car.

The crash happened at about 22:45 BST on Monday, on Wolviston Road in Billingham.

His family paid tribute to him, calling him "fun loving" and a "beautiful brother and son."
