Two people were killed and a third seriously injured following a three car collision on Teesside.

Carol Ann Gill, 58 from Bridlington and Kenneth Wetherell, 82, from Redcar died in the collision on the A1043 Nunthorpe bypass in Middlesbrough on Friday.

A 90-year-old man, also from Redcar, was seriously hurt and is in a stable condition in hospital.

Police said the crash involved a Volvo car and Peugeot van travelling south and a northbound Jaguar.

Mrs Gill, a former Army staff sergeant, was described as "a devoted and loving wife, daughter and sister" by her family.
