Boy, 2, falls 9ft out of window in Bishop Auckland

A two-year-old boy has fallen 9ft (3m) out of a window in County Durham, paramedics have said.

The boy, from Bishop Auckland, who has not been identified, fell out of a bedroom window at about 14:10 BST.

He was treated at the scene and then flown to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough by Great North Air Ambulance.

The boy's injuries are not thought to be life threatening and his condition has been described as stable.

A spokesperson from the Great North Air Ambulance said a passerby attempted to catch the boy as he fell.
