Pedestrian killed in B6728 Barnard Castle crash named

A pedestrian who was killed when he was hit by a car near Barnard Castle in County Durham, has been named.

Michael Beadle was walking on the B6728 near Barnard Castle golf club late on Friday when he was hit by a car.

The 47-year-old, of Daleview, Middleton in Teesdale, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Durham Police said a male passenger in the car was taken to hospital with facial injuries. No-one else was hurt in the incident.
