Darlington museum gets funds for WW1 project

A museum has received some funding to help it with a project to mark the centenary of World War 1.

Head of Steam, Darlington's railway museum, received £42,300 from Heritage Lottery Fund to commemorate the work of railway workers during World War 1.

The project aims to preserve the heritage and memories of workers specifically from the North East.

The information and the public's contributions will be collated to create an online database.
