Stockton's Halcyon Centre day care unit gets £500k revamp

More than £500,000 has been spent modernising a Teesside day care centre.

Work at the Halcyon Centre began in November after Stockton Council secured the money needed from the government.

The refitted centre now boasts an alcohol-free pub, new lighting, a greenhouse and a sensory garden.

The centre, which is mainly for dementia patients, was officially reopened by the Mayor of Stockton, Councillor Barbara Inman.
