Middlesbrough fatal crash: Teenager charged

A teenager has been charged after a man died and a girl was critically injured in a car crash in Middlesbrough.

Andrew Corfield, 39, died at the scene of the two-car collision in the Hemlington area on Tuesday evening.

His 17-year-old daughter Alice Corfield is in a critical but stable condition in hospital, police said.

An 18-year-old man was charged with causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving and aggravated vehicle taking.

He appeared before magistrates and was remanded to appear at Teesside Crown Court on 13 November.
