County Durham motorcyclist killed in crash on A66

A motorcyclist has died in a collision with a car on the A66 in County Durham.

The BMW motorcycle and a Toyota Hilux towing a trailer crashed on the A66 between Bowes and Brough at about 10:00 BST on Monday.

The 62-year-old male motorcyclist from Bishop Middleham, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passengers and driver of the car were uninjured.

The road was closed for more than four hours. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Durham Police.
