A man has been sentenced for the manslaughter of a man who died after being attacked on a night out in Hartlepool.

Mark Dixon, 32, from Peterlee, died a week after suffering head injuries in an attack in Victoria Road on 5 October.

Paul Sutton, of Raby Gardens, was previously found guilty of manslaughter following a trial.

The 29-year-old was jailed for six years at Newcastle Crown Court.
