Detectives investigating the murder of a Teesside woman have traced a TV that was missing from her home.

Norma Bell, 79, died overnight between 2 and 3 April prior to a blaze at her home on Westbourne Road, Hartlepool.

Cleveland Police said a Digihome 49" black LED TV with Freeview, which was in its box in Mrs Bell's living room prior to her death, is a "key line of inquiry" in their investigation.

A 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.

The television had been bought in November 2015 as a present for Mrs Bell's grandson.

Officers said a member of the public came forward following a public appeal on Thursday.
